Insurance Medical Wigs
We are here to guide you with the process for medical-grade wigs.
Step 1: Medical Diagnosis
First step is having a clear diagnosis from your dermatologist or physician. the diagnosis should state that you have a medical condition, such as alopecia, cancer, that resulted in medical hair-loss.
Step 2: Prescription for a Cranial Prosthesis (Medical wig)
Your Physician must prescribe you a prescription detailing Cranial Prosthesis.
This prescription must specifically mention the term Cranial Prosthesis for some insurance companies may not use the term "wig".
Step 3: Consultation with a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist
Schedule an appointment with HMFLABeautybyyvette for a custom fitting for your medical wig.
Then I can provide you with an estimate of the costs involved.
Step 4: Submitting Your Claim
After you receive your cranial prosthesis, I will provide you with an itemize receipt and any other necessary documents you may need to submit your health insurance claim.
The receipt will include a medical code that is specifically for cranial prosthesis, and not a cosmetic wig.
Step 5: Follow up with insurance
It's imperative to follow up with your health insurance after submitting your claim making sure it was received and to check for any status of your claim. Every health insurance has a different process, so it's imperative to understand your policy's specific requirements.
Please remember that most insurance covers a substantial portion of the costs for cranial prosthesis, it might vary depending on your specific health insurance plan.
It's highly recommended to contact your insurance provider for details about your health coverage before your consultation.
